Recently the new Glide Android Wear update has made a buzz around the Wear community. Glide can be thought of as a universal alternative to IOS’ Messenger app. You can reply via video, text with dictation and audio voice recording. With the Glide Android Wear update, you can watch live videos straight from your smartwatch. It allows access to your recent chats including any emojis you’ve cover the screen up with.
We have to give props to the developers for Glide. The app has a nice simple approach and is appealing to the eye. Of course Glide is supporting the new Android Wear speaker support update as well. Those of you who have an Android Wear smartwatch without a speaker could always listen from bluetooth headphones or the phone itself. App makers like Glide are very much welcomed to the Android Wear space with this kind of integration.
Now that this is all happening, is there any particular reason why Android Wear wouldn’t come out on top over the Apple Watch? It seems like a given since the customization and expansion for Wear is more appealing to a wider audience of people, which is most of what Android Wear is about. We’ve somewhat joked about it before, but for those who want it, there will probably be an inevitable Android Wear smartwatch with a camera announced. After all Samsung did it with their own smartwatch in their Gear lineup.
